Instead I have decided to go on a mission for my church (The church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints). In October of last year President Thomas .S. Monson the Prophet of the church changed the age for missionaries, originally Young men would serve from age 19- 21, and Young women if they chose would serve 21-22. The spirit confirmed to me that going on a mission was something I needed to do. So as I prepared and went through the process of getting all my shots, interviews and recommended blessings i sent my papers in to be reviewed by prophets of the Lord.
On April 24th 2013 I received my call to....
Columbus Ohio. I will leave to serve the people for 18 months on August 21st 2013. I am extremely excited and a little nervous. I know however, that the Lord will guide and bless me as I strive to live and follow his commandments. I am glad for the opportunity to serve and teach others about the Gospel. I sincerely pray and hope for those in Columbus to hear the words the missionaries speak to them and that they may feel the spirit guiding them to understand the will of their Heavenly Father. I am so blessed to have the truthfulness of the restored gospel in my life, It will be a great privilege and Honor to serve the Lord as a missionary.
